From the Raleigh Area:

• Due to the heavy volume of traffic on I-40 you may find it beneficial to take I-64 West to 421 North toward Greensboro  
• Before Greensboro, take the I-85 South / I-40 West exit.
• Follow I-40 West through Winston-Salem.   
• Follow the "From Winston-Salem" directions.

From Winston-Salem, NC: 

• Take 421 West towards Yadkinville.
• Before entering Wilkesborough, you will pass the Wilkesborough speedway on the North side of 421. Go approximately 5.5 more miles to the highway 268 exit. 
• At the exit light, turn left onto 268 West. Go 14.7  miles on 268 until you see a BP gas station on the left. It's also named "Eller's Grocery". This is your last chance for gas, food, etc before getting to the cabin. You can also follow the signs for Powderhorn Mountain.
• 100 feet past the BP gas station, turn right on Elk Creek/Darby Road. (You will pass the "Leatherwood" complex on the way).
• Go 7.5 miles and turn right onto Triplett Road. You will see a Powderhorn Mountain sign pointing right and the Ferguson Volunteer Fire Dept - Darby station is also on this corner. 
• After turning right onto Triplett Road (this is also Elk Creek Road). Go 2.2 miles. The road will turn to gravel. You'll go over a bridge and the cabin will be a few hundred yards up on the left. The address is 9710 Elk Creek Road and there will be a locked cattle gate on the driveway.
• If you were to continue following Elk Creek north, it will run back into OLD 421 near Boone.

From I-77:

•  exit at 421 North and follow the directions above.

From the Blue Ridge Parkway:

• Exit at 421. Turn left onto OLD 421 towards Boone, NC. Go approximately 1 mile. On the left side you will see a road going under the Blue Ridge Parkway and a white sign reading "United Christian Church".
• Turn left onto Elk Creek Road. Go approximately 7 miles. The road will turn to gravel. Go approximately 1.5 more miles, the cabin will be on the right side. The address is 9710 Elk Creek Road. 

From Boone:

• Follow 421 South out of downtown Boone.
• At the Nissan car dealer, 421 will turn into a 4-lane divided highway.
• Go 1.5 miles staying in the right lane. You will see a sign to "Parkway Elementary" pointing right.
• At the stop light, turn right on to OLD 421 south.
• Go 1.5 miles and turn right onto Elk Creek Rd. If you reach the Blueridge Parkway entrance, you went 1 mile too far south.
• Go approximately 7 miles. The road will turn to gravel. Go approximately 1.5 more miles, the cabin will be on the right side. The address is 9710 Elk Creek Road.
